Bar Talk Happy Hour will conclude after nearly three years, with its final episode airing Saturday, February 28th at 6 PM CST. Mix Country 106 thanks affiliates and listeners for their support and remains committed to Real American Country Music.
After nearly three years of bringing upbeat country, Honky-Tonk, and Texas Red Dirt music to listeners across the U.S., Canada, and the UK, Bar Talk Happy Hour will officially conclude production at the end of February.
The final new episode of Bar Talk Happy Hour will be released on Saturday, February 28th at 6:00 PM CST.
Since its launch, the show has featured artist interviews, country music news, lively discussions, and plenty of laughs. From conversations with rising Texas Red Dirt artists to big headlines in mainstream country, the program has aimed to blend entertainment, authenticity, and real conversation — all while staying true to the spirit of independent country music.
While the show has built a loyal listener base and strong relationships with many affiliate stations, growth in recent months has slowed, and the financial and production demands of maintaining the syndicated program have become increasingly difficult to sustain. After careful consideration, the decision was made to bring this chapter to a close.
“We’re incredibly grateful to the stations that believed in us from the beginning and stuck with us,” said host Odie Coyote. “To every listener who tuned in each week — thank you for spending your time with us.”
Although Bar Talk Happy Hour is wrapping up, Mix Country 106 remains committed to delivering Real American Country Music, including Texas Country favorites, 90s classics, and today’s best independent artists.
This may be the end of one chapter — but it’s certainly not the end of the music.
Stay tuned.
